MUSEUM MONTH

SENIORS FREE AT THE SAN DIEGO ZOO SAFARI PARK

When: February 1-28, 2023
During the month of February, all visitors age 65 and older receive free admission to the Safari Park. Enjoy the sights on an Africa Tram, see the platypuses and other Aussie species at Walkabout Australia, wander through Tiger Trail, take a stroll around Mombasa Lagoon, and relax with refreshments on the patio at Kijamii Overlook. There's a world of sights to see—all at the Safari Park!

 

LUNAR NEW YEAR AT THE SAN DIEGO ZOO

When: February 4-5, 2023
Celebrate good fortune this Lunar New Year, a holiday recognized throughout many East and Southeast Asian countries. 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit, and those born during this zodiac year are known for being calm, agile, and prosperous.

WINTER & SPRING GRAY WHALE WATCHING

When: Thru April
Each year, more than 20,000 gray whales make a 10,000 mile round-trip journey from Alaska to the lagoons of Baja California, where the females give birth to their calves. After spending time in warm Baja California waters so their young can grow strong, they make the journey north again in spring. The longest known distance any mammal migrates on an annual basis, it is truly an extraordinary spectacle to observe. With 70 miles of coastline directly in the migration path, San Diego is an ideal destination to see this impressive parade of gentle giants.

 

SEAWORLD MARDI GRAS

This New Orleans-style carnival event comes complete with live music, colorful costumes, and Mardi Gras-infused Creole and Cajun food favorites like hearty jambalaya, those ever-popular beignets, and much more.

TASTE OF BARRIO LOGAN

40TH ANNUAL CHINESE NEW YEAR FAIR

The San Diego Chinese New Year Fair is a two-day event celebrating the Lunar New Year, showcasing exciting performances, Asian art and culture, an array of delicious Chinese and Asian food, and much more.

 

CORONADO VALENTINE'S 10K & 1 MILE FUN RUN

The event has earned a great reputation for its attention to detail, race management, and an awesome post-race party, and will be a Match Making event this year!

 

CARDIFF KOOK RUN 5K, 10K, & COSTUME CONTEST

The Cardiff Kook Run 5K, 10K and Costume Contest is a celebration of the greatest community in the most amazing town on the map.

 

SAN DIEGO JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL

Held every February, the Oceanside International Film Festival is an opportunity for independent filmmakers to have their work screened along the county’s North Coast region. It also gives attendees a chance for viewing local and international cinema at a locale in Southern California known for its rich history, beautiful beaches, and unique artistic community.

MERMAID HALF MARATHON

Mermaid returns to San Diego's Mission Bay for a scenic women's 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. Come out and experience the joy of crossing the finish line.
